Ashtanga Yoga Immersion
3 days 3 practices
Friday 16th March: 6pm – 8pm
Saturday 17th March: 9.30am – 11.30am
Sunday 18th March: 9.30am – 11.30am
Ashtanga yoga practice is a series of set sequences of postures created by the late Pattabhi Jois. It comes from a long lineage of ancient yoga wisdom and is ideal for those who wish to learn a sequence they can practise anywhere. The practice incorporates Vinyasa (movement with the breath) to maintain heat in the body and to link postures together.
You will be guided with hands on assistance throughout the three classes. I will teach and guide you no further than the first half of the Ashtanga Primary Series and into the finishing sequence consisting of backbends and inversions. Here’s a free A4 Ashtanga primary series chart if you’re not familiar with the sequence. If you’re new to Ashtanga, please don’t worry. The emphasis is one step at a time and repetition is the key. This immersion is suitable for complete beginners to those who are used to practising half of the primary series.
Yoga mats, blocks and blankets are provided if you need them.
It is recommended that you come to all 3 classes to experience the benefits of a more consistent practice but pay for individual classes if you need to.
I love the Ashtanga method, the benefits it brings to my life and I’m always excited to share it with others.

Extended Yoga Immersion
These 3 hour workshops are an extended yoga immersion and usually run monthly. They are designed to take you through yoga postures (asana) onto extended breathing techniques (pranayama) and into meditation (dhyana). The end result being a still mind and comfortable body. As a rough guide I teach yoga postures for 2 hours, enhanced breathing and mantra for 30 minutes and for the rest, meditation. My teaching style is dynamic but suitable for both beginners and experienced as individuals are encouraged to take rest when needed and alternative postures are given. Mats and blocks are provided if you need them.
