Yoga Classes at Sherwood Community Centre

Taking insight and inspiration from Tirumalai Krishnamacharya (the Godfather of modern postural yoga), I practice and teach following the method of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and refinements of BKS Iyengar. My approach is to treat everyone as an individual and to guide and encourage your yoga practice appropriately and effectively. I’m here to facilitate and support your practice whether you’re a complete beginner or experienced student.

Teaching methods

Counted method is a led class using the traditional sanskrit count to guide the students breath and movements. This helps students to connect to a good rhythm and pace of practice.

Mysore style is Ashtanga practice with more one to one attention from the teacher as you practise the sequence at your own pace. It’s beneficial as it helps with memorising the sequence and empowering as it becomes more your own intuitive practice. It’s the best way to learn and practise the Ashtanga method.

I teach using a combination of counted method and Mysore style accordingly.
